MTTA Academy began in October 2001 just three weeks after the passing of Master Taíno’s slave tommy. The Academy was first known as “Master Taíno’s slave Training Weekend”, and eventually as “Master Taíno’s Training Academy.” In 2010, the name was changed to “MTTA Academy.”
